Junk Removal Service with Spyder

How does junk removal work with a Spyder move?

Every move leaves a pile: the sofa that will not fit the new living room, the mattress nobody wants, the desk from the spare room. Spyder Moving and Storage is a moving company first, and its disposal service is built for that pile. Mark the items, confirm them with the office before the move, and the crew loads them on the truck and disposes of them for a per-item charge set in the company policy. List the pieces you want gone when you request your moving estimate.

“True professionals”

Second time moving with Spyder in Denver and WOW, true professionals- they get the job done so fast while being incredibly careful. After my first move with them went so well they were no doubt my first call the second time around. They even helped me get my TV off the wall and my large fragile mirrors that I couldn’t do myself. Makes all the difference to have friendly and efficient movers.

“Worth every penny”

Ours was a local move. Their bid was $900 less than the competitions. Charles and his crew came on time, worked very hard on a very hot day and completed the work in the eight hour timeframe that they had bid. They moved our baby grand piano, which we cherish and did a very fine job. If I have to move again, I’ll call Spyder and ask for Charles and his crew.

“Smooth move to Memphis”

Charles did a great job packing and moving my things from Oxford, MS to Memphis, TN. They did a great job handling my heavier pieces. They were very kind and helpful.

Good to know

What can the crew take, and what should go elsewhere?

  • Furniture and household items: sofas, mattresses, dressers, tables, shelving, rugs, boxed discards, broken furniture.
  • Appliances: refrigerators and freezers only when empty, defrosted and disconnected; ask the office, because disposal rules for refrigerants differ by county.
  • Not taken: paint, chemicals, fuel, tires, batteries and other hazardous waste, which go to your city or county drop-off; loose yard waste and construction debris; anything not confirmed with the office in advance.

When does it make sense to use the movers instead of a junk company?

When the items are leaving the same day the truck is there. A separate junk removal company charges a minimum load and a second appointment; Spyder charges per item and uses the crew and truck already at the house. For a whole-house clean-out with no move attached, a dedicated hauler is usually the better fit, and the office will say so. For the three or ten pieces a move leaves behind, the per-item rate is the simpler bill.

How to prepare items for disposal

  • Mark each piece with tape or a note so the crew does not load it with the move.
  • Send the list to the office before moving day; the charges go on the estimate.
  • Empty drawers and remove anything you are keeping, including hardware.
  • For a downsizing or estate move, decide what goes to family, to donation and to disposal ahead of time; the crew can deliver pieces to a family member's home on the same route as part of the move.
Why Spyder

Why have the movers take it

Priced per item, in writing

The four size categories and their charges are in company policy; your pieces go on the estimate with the move.

Same crew, same truck

No second company and no second appointment: the movers load the discards after the move is on the truck.

Downsizing made simpler

Items for family, for donation and for disposal are sorted in the move plan and handled on one day.

Clear limits

Hazardous waste, construction debris and yard waste are not taken, so you know in advance what needs a different drop-off.

Approved before moving day

The office confirms every disposal item in advance, which keeps the crew's time and your bill predictable on moving day.

Disposal is available with moves booked in Oxford, Hattiesburg, Memphis, Denver and Colorado Springs. Add it when you book.

How much does junk removal cost with a move?

Spyder Moving and Storage charges per item by size: $10 for small items such as chairs and boxes, $20 for medium items such as tables and recliners, $40 for large items such as desks and dressers, and $100 for oversized items such as mattresses and sofas. The charges are added to the move estimate once the office approves the list.

Do you do junk removal without a move?

Spyder is a moving company and offers disposal as part of a move. For a clean-out with no move attached, a dedicated junk hauler with load pricing is usually the better fit, and the office will tell you so when you call.

Will you take a mattress or a sofa?

Yes. Mattresses, sofas, love seats and armoires are oversized items at $100 each, loaded on the moving truck after the move and disposed of by the crew.

What items will you not take?

Paint, chemicals, fuel, tires, batteries and other hazardous waste, construction debris and loose yard waste are not taken; these go to your city or county drop-off. Refrigerators and freezers are taken only when empty, defrosted and disconnected, and only after the office confirms local disposal rules.

Do I need to confirm the items in advance?

Yes. Every disposal item must be approved by the office before the move so the charges are on the estimate and the crew plans the truck space. Mark the pieces at the house so they are not loaded with the move.

Can you deliver furniture to a family member instead?

Yes. Pieces going to a relative in the same area can be delivered on the same route as part of the move, billed as move time rather than disposal.
