Commercial Moving with Spyder

What does a commercial move with Spyder involve?

A commercial move is measured in downtime, not boxes. Spyder Moving and Storage plans office, clinic and retail moves around the hours your business cannot afford to lose: after-hours and weekend loading, a certificate of insurance for both buildings, reserved freight elevators, and a crew size matched to the floor plan. Local commercial moves are billed hourly with a 2-hour minimum; moves between cities or states are priced by mileage and truck space. Request a commercial moving estimate with your square footage, floor and move date.

“True professionals”

Second time moving with Spyder in Denver and WOW, true professionals- they get the job done so fast while being incredibly careful. After my first move with them went so well they were no doubt my first call the second time around. They even helped me get my TV off the wall and my large fragile mirrors that I couldn’t do myself. Makes all the difference to have friendly and efficient movers.

“Worth every penny”

Ours was a local move. Their bid was $900 less than the competitions. Charles and his crew came on time, worked very hard on a very hot day and completed the work in the eight hour timeframe that they had bid. They moved our baby grand piano, which we cherish and did a very fine job. If I have to move again, I’ll call Spyder and ask for Charles and his crew.

“Smooth move to Memphis”

Charles did a great job packing and moving my things from Oxford, MS to Memphis, TN. They did a great job handling my heavier pieces. They were very kind and helpful.

How is a commercial move planned?

The plan below is the sequence Spyder Moving and Storage follows for an office or clinic move. Dates are typical lead times; a single-suite office can compress them, a multi-floor move needs all of them.

WhenStepWhat the office needs from you
3–4 weeks beforeWalkthrough and inventory of both locations; written estimate with crew size, truck count and move window.Floor plans, headcount, list of equipment that needs special handling.
2–3 weeks beforeBuilding logistics: certificate of insurance, freight elevator slots, loading dock times, parking for a 26-foot truck.Property manager contacts and building rules for both addresses.
1 week beforeLabeling system agreed (room and desk codes), boxes and crates delivered if Spyder is packing.Who packs desks, where sensitive files and IT go.
Move dayCrew loads by zone in the agreed window, protects floors and door frames, transports and places furniture by label. One decision-maker on site at each end.
After the moveWalk-through, bill of lading signed, debris and used boxes removed if requested.Note anything damaged on the bill of lading the same day.

Good to know

What kinds of businesses does Spyder move?

  • Offices from a single suite to a full floor: desks, workstations, filing cabinets, conference furniture, break-room appliances.
  • Medical and dental practices: exam-room furniture, reception areas and records, with sensitive files kept in your staff's custody.
  • Retail and restaurants: shelving, display fixtures, stock and kitchen equipment, moved empty and reconnected by your contractor.
  • Small warehouses and workshops: racking taken down and rebuilt, equipment on pallets or dollies, quoted by weight and access.
  • Schools and churches: classroom and sanctuary furniture moved between buildings during breaks.

Large machinery, safes and pianos are quoted separately by weight, stairs and access; heavy item moving and safe moving describe how.

How is commercial moving priced?

Inside one metro area, a commercial move is billed by the hour at the rate on your estimate, in 15-minute increments after a 2-hour minimum, with driving time between the two addresses included in labor time. Moves between cities or states are priced by mileage, weight and truck space, with a fixed pickup date. Both follow the company policy: moving blankets are free, boxes and crates used are charged, and basic carrier liability of $0.60 per pound per item is included, with full replacement protection available at $10 or $20 per $1,000 of declared value. A commercial estimate also lists the number of trucks and crews, because a two-truck move finishes in half the building window.

Why Spyder

Why businesses book Spyder for commercial moving

One plan, one point of contact

A coordinator at the office nearest you builds the move plan, confirms building logistics and stays on the phone during the move.

COI without the chase

Spyder issues the certificate of insurance your property manager asks for, naming both buildings, before the move date.

Crews that work by label

Every desk, chair and box carries a zone code agreed in advance, so placement at the new office doesn't rely on memory.

Trucks scaled to the window

The estimate lists how many 26-foot trucks and crews the move needs to finish inside the building's loading hours.

Liability in writing

Released value of $0.60 per pound per item is included; depreciated value or full replacement protection is offered on the estimate.

Registered carrier

Spyder Moving Services LLC holds USDOT 3187084 and MC-132217; Spyder Moving and Storage, LLC holds Colorado PUC permit HHG-00732 for moves inside Colorado.

How much does a commercial move cost?

A local commercial move is billed hourly at the rate on your written estimate, in 15-minute increments after a 2-hour minimum, multiplied by the number of crews. Moves between cities or states are priced by mileage, weight and truck space. The estimate also lists the number of trucks and any crates or packing materials.

Can you move our office after hours or on a weekend?

Yes. Spyder offices schedule moves Monday through Sunday, 7 AM to 7 PM, and commercial moves are regularly loaded in the evening or on a Saturday to avoid business hours. Tell the office your building's loading-dock and elevator hours when you book.

Do you provide a certificate of insurance for the building?

Yes. Send the property manager's COI requirements for both buildings to the office when you book and Spyder issues the certificate before the move date.

Who packs the desks and files?

Either option works. Staff can pack their own desks into labeled boxes delivered before the move, or Spyder crews pack as part of the labor time with materials charged by use. Confidential files and IT equipment usually stay with your staff or your IT contractor.

Do you move businesses between Mississippi, Tennessee and Colorado?

Yes. With offices in all three states, Spyder moves companies between them as a registered interstate carrier under USDOT 3187084, with a fixed pickup date and a written estimate. Memphis to Oxford is same-day; Denver to Memphis is about 1,050 miles, two driving days.

Can you move heavy equipment and safes with the office?

Yes, when they are listed at the walkthrough. Safes, large machinery and oversized pieces are quoted by weight, stairs and access on the same estimate, and the crew brings the dollies and floor protection the item needs.
