“True professionals”

Second time moving with Spyder in Denver and WOW, true professionals- they get the job done so fast while being incredibly careful. After my first move with them went so well they were no doubt my first call the second time around. They even helped me get my TV off the wall and my large fragile mirrors that I couldn’t do myself. Makes all the difference to have friendly and efficient movers.

“Worth every penny”

Ours was a local move. Their bid was $900 less than the competitions. Charles and his crew came on time, worked very hard on a very hot day and completed the work in the eight hour timeframe that they had bid. They moved our baby grand piano, which we cherish and did a very fine job. If I have to move again, I’ll call Spyder and ask for Charles and his crew.

“Smooth move to Memphis”

Charles did a great job packing and moving my things from Oxford, MS to Memphis, TN. They did a great job handling my heavier pieces. They were very kind and helpful.

How far is Florida from each Spyder office?

Spyder prices a move to Florida by mileage, the weight of your shipment and the truck space it takes, so distance is the first number on your estimate. Florida is long from north to south: Pensacola and Miami are almost 700 miles apart. The table shows highway miles and driving days to six Florida cities.

Highway miles from each office to the city center. Driving days follow the 600-mile or 10-hour daily limit; a loaded truck is slower than a car, so routes near the limit show a range. Colorado Springs is within 100 miles of the Denver figures.

Moving blankets are free. Basic carrier liability of $0.60 per pound per item is included, and full replacement coverage costs $20 per $1,000 of declared value. The deposit is paid by card when you book; the balance is due in Florida before the crew unloads.

When is the best time to move to Florida?

Hurricane season runs from June 1 to November 30, with most storms between mid-August and mid-October. A late fall, winter or spring move avoids it. In summer, afternoon thunderstorms with frequent lightning are the rule from late May to mid-October, so book a morning arrival window and the unloading is mostly done before the storms build. If a hurricane threatens the route, our drivers stop where it is safe and the office gives you a new delivery date.

Buying a home? A new flood insurance policy usually takes effect 30 days after purchase, unless you buy it together with your mortgage, so ask your agent early.

What should you do after you arrive in Florida?

  • Car title and registration: within 10 days of becoming a resident, with insurance from a Florida-licensed agent. Starting a job or enrolling children in a public school counts as residency. Check the exact deadline with your county tax collector.
  • Driver's license: within 30 days, in person, with a vision test.
  • Condo approval: many associations must approve a sale or lease before you move in and may charge up to $150 per applicant. Get the approval and the building's move-in rules before you set the delivery date.

Do you also move from Florida to Mississippi or Tennessee?

Yes. Spyder also moves homes and offices from Florida to Mississippi and Tennessee. Pensacola to Hattiesburg is a 150-mile trip, and Orlando or Tampa to Oxford or Memphis is two driving days. The office nearest your new home plans the move. For a Tennessee-to-Florida checklist, read our guide to moving from Tennessee to Florida.

Why Spyder

Why do families pick Spyder for a move to Florida?

Closest to the Panhandle

Our Hattiesburg office is 150 miles from Pensacola and 340 from Tallahassee, so a move from the Pine Belt or the Gulf Coast loads and delivers within one driving day.

Two days to Central Florida

From Oxford or Memphis, Orlando and Tampa are about 700–760 miles. Your shipment stays on the truck it was loaded on, with the same crew at both ends.

Colorado to Florida, planned

From Denver or Colorado Springs, Orlando and Tampa are about four driving days under our 600-mile daily limit, and the estimate states the transit time.

Storm season, planned around

Moving between June and November? The office books dates with weather in mind and calls you with a new delivery date if a storm closes the route.

Storage between closings

If your Florida home is not ready, Spyder storage services hold your shipment, booked on the same estimate as the move itself.

Protection you choose

Basic liability is included. Full replacement coverage is $20 per $1,000 of declared value, chosen on the estimate before the truck is loaded.
